Hofner is one of those companies that is in no hurry to churn out product. They take their time, picking great woods and crafting amazing instruments. We have guitars with massive humbucking pickup systems and I can’t get over how this bass sounds bigger than all of them. It just goes to show that is what goes into the instrument that really counts. This is the bass that Paul McCartney made famous. It is faithfully recreated after his 62. the “strip” machine heads, the slot-head screws on the hardware, and the two-piece neck are all authentic touches. In the Vintage ’62 Höfner has created a replica of Paul’s bass historically accurate enough to satisfy even the most demanding Beatles fan.
