This Carr Skylark is here on consignment and is the ultimate low-power American inspired amplifier!! An incredible sounding 1x12 all-tube combo with a bevy of killer sounds onboard. This grab-and-go amp will quickly become your go-to thanks to a wealth of easy to find sounds, based on a pair of 6V6 power tubes. Maxing out at 12 watts, this amp produces volume comparable to a Princeton Reverb.
This little amp plays nicely with all sorts of pickups. In fact, we have yet to plug something into it that we didn't like. From sweet clean tones to raucous high gain all at appropriate volume levels thanks to a built-in attenuator that takes its job VERY seriously. The High-Low Gain Switch does just what it says and also takes its job seriously, essentially making this amp function much like a channel switcher.
The Skylark idea began with Carr's love and appreciation for classic home/student 60s American amps such as the Harvard to name but one. These small – student amps deliver organic tube juice and vibe at real-world volumes – making them super usable and super satisfying. The Skylark takes this fun utility a giant leap forward.
Reverb, a built-in power attenuator, Hi/Low gain switch, and the extended range presence control offer an incredible pallet of tones from the Skylark’s beautiful dove-tailed cabinet. The Skylark handles pedals with grace though you certainly don't need any to appreciate the incredible character this amp has.
This is also an insanely cool looking amp and we love it in the Brown Gator Tolex. No animals were harmed in the tolex-ing of this or any Carr Amplifier!
