This Guitar Ships FREE in the USA

My first impression of this PRS Studio in Limited Faded Blue Rap was like looking at an aerial shot of the Great Barrier Reef. Go ahead, Google the reef and compare. Uncanny, isn’t it? The folks at PRS really outdid themselves with this one. The V12 faded blue finish over a carved flame maple top is mesmerizing – I kept expecting to see a shark leap out of the guitar and bite me!

Looks aside, this Studio is one fine playing machine. Combining a pair of 57/08 Narrowfield pickups in the neck and middle with a 57/08 splittable humbucker in the bridge yields a huge array of tones covering nearly any genre of music you can play. As one would expect, the Narrowfield pickups are a bit brighter but they’re also crystal clear and articulate – great for cutting through a dense mix. Starting in the neck, I was greeted with a fat, clear tone I found perfect for Jazz. Adding in some overdrive resulted in a thick, biting snarl that had me belting out some mean ‘ol Blues. Position 4 is full with a nice low-mid punch that growls with Blues / Rock muscle when pushed. The middle and 2 positions delivered more mid heavy quack and spank that would work well in Country and dirties up nicely for Rock crunch. Pulling up the tone knob to split the humbucker for both the mid and 2 positions brought out some Strat-like Funk that loved my wah pedal. And the full 57/07 in the bridge spewed forth with a surprisingly tele-ish spank that dirtied up nicely for Modern Rock tones.

All in all, the mix of single coil and humbucking pickups, Pattern Thin neck for ease of playability and stunning looks (including modern birds that appear to be diving into the “blue ocean” body) make this a truly versatile guitar. Perfect for just about any style, take a dive into this one and see what treasures you’ll find!
