We took this guitar in on trade from one of our regular customers. This guitar was purchased in 2006 and traded back in perfect shape. It plays super smooth and the tone is incredible. Very rich and resonant, with nice sustain. It’s really everything you could ask for from a vintage reissue. Bumble bee caps and CTS pots and the long neck tenon make this guitar historically accurate . This guitar was Pleked by our guitar tech, resulting in perfectly leveled and crowned frets. The neck is nice and straight. It weighs in at 9lbs 1oz and comes with the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.

Used Gibson Custom Shop Pete Townshend #9 1 of 75 at The Music Gallery, Highland Park, IL

This USED Pete Townshend Les Paul #9 is an accurate reproduction of the Les Paul Deluxe that Townshend played on stage during The Who’s heyday in the 1970s, and like the original it features a highly customised pickup/control set-up, not to mention a ton of other fun tweaks. Pickups are a DiMarzio Dual Sound naked humbucker in the middle position, sandwiched by a pair of mini-humbuckers at the bridge and neck. Extra toggles have been added for control of the DiMarzio, including one that taps the pickup and one to throw it out of phase. Other unique features include a 3-piece pancake body (maple, mahogany, poplar,) Pete Townshend slim-profile neck, a Nashville TOM bridge, top-hat knobs, custom end-pins and metal jackplate, and of course that oh-so-cool “9” graphic that gives this guitar its name. This one is in superb condition with a ton of tone and it rings like a bell. A guitar for the serious collector!
