This guitar reminds me of those old 60’s and 70’s muscle cars – like a Chevy SS decked out in a sweet red finish with chrome grill, bumpers and trim. Maybe that’s what the folks at the Fender Custom Shop had in mind when they crafted this Stratocaster Pro NOS in Chrome Red. And you’ll no doubt get a real retro / modern feel once you take a gander at the oversized 70’s headstock paired with modern locking tuners, LSR roller nut and heel carve.
Powering this Hot Rod is a set of Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups that go from zero to sixty as fast as you can turn the volume knob! The SCN pickups churn out a modern take on the traditional Strat tone, but still offer a full, fat and warm sound from the neck and 4 positions. Blues, Rock and Jazz are all within easy reach. The middle pickup and Position 2 bring in a little more mid-bite that easily fuels Modern Rock rhythm chunks and Country jangle. Shift into the bridge position for a bright, crisp and biting tone for clean picking or dirty lead lines.
The modern “C” neck paired with a 12” radius may feel a little strange to some, but after a few minutes of playing you’ll feel right at home with easy chording and fleet fingered arpeggios. With its cool retro/modern look and a finish that harkens back to a time when muscle ruled the road, this guitar is ready to rev up your playing. So why don’t you come in and take a test drive?
