Its soooo fat and meaty! The neck, I mean – what’d you think I was talking about? All kidding aside, this Fender® Custom Shop John Cruz Master Built Nocaster® Relic in 2 Tone Sunburst is, quite simply, AWESOME! The relic job is very well done and everything is aged and worn just right – this is a real player’s guitar. The “U” shaped neck is huge but very comfortable and the medium jumbo frets make for easy string bending. Obviously this axe isn’t meant for lightning runs up and down the neck, but rather those who take their time and really dig into the notes making each one count. Of course, with a fuller neck comes a fuller, fatter tone – and this guitar has tone to spare!

The neck pickup oozes warm, lush notes that beg to be held and responds very well to changes in the knobs. You can easily go from blues and overdriven rock tones to deep, moody jazz licks just by twisting the tone and volume controls. The middle position is very “open” sounding clean or driven while maintaining great clarity. And the bridge pickup can let loose with a little grit to a stinging bite, but cleans up nicely for chicken pickin’ if that’s your thing. This truly is an incredible guitar with loads of MOJO! Don’t let the big neck scare you – the tones you can conjure up with this Tele are limitless. If you want to cover everything from Hard Rock to Jazz it don’t get much better than this one!!
