Its early morning, 1969. The waking hours are broken by the sounds of the “Star Spangled Banner” like you’ve never heard it before. Replete with bombs exploding, machine guns firing and air raid sirens blaring, you’re mesmerized by the sounds Mr. James Marshall Hendrix and his soon-to-be-iconic white Strat are pumping out through Marshall stacks. You know right then and there this guitar has a voice like angels singing and you vow to find your own one day. Well, my friend, that day is today thanks to this Fender Custom Shop 59 Stratocaster NOS in Olympic White!

Sporting a very comfortable soft “V” neck and 6105 frets, fast runs and huge “Jimi-approved” bends are a breeze. Two finger tapping and harmonic notes fly effortlessly from this fingerboard. And the weight of this guitar is perfect for those long sets (and solos)! The 50’s pickups are crisp and articulate with warm, bluesy growl from the neck and 4 positions – perfect for rock, blues and jazz. The middle pickup is clean and clear with nice mids and it overdrives well. Position 2 is more twangy and quacky like a Tele but turns into an all out rocker when pushed. The bridge pickup leans toward a more bright and lively tone, which may limit its usefulness for some since it has no connection to the tone control. But most people will spend their time rockin’ away in Position 2 anyway! Beyond the obvious nod to the Hendrix Strat, this guitar throws off a very cool, retro vibe with style galore. The combination of Olympic White finish (so nice you can eat off of it!) and mint green pick guard, coupled with vintage style tuners and pickups, put this guitar at the top of the snazzy charts. Even hardcore Jazzers would be proud to showcase this axe at a gig.
